Emerson Closure 12/20-12/24, 2010

Emerson Academy will be closed the week prior to Christmas NOT the week following. This amendment was based on parent feedback. We will re-open December 27-30, then close for December 31 in observance for New Year's Day.

If you are in need of care we would be happy to provide names and contact information of individuals who may be willing to babysit on those days!

Our event is gaining momentum! We're excited by the outpouring of support from our Emerson families and all the vendors who have donated so generously to our scholarship fund for our special needs kiddos!

We will be posting a LONG list of donors after the event because the list keeps growing !!!!

Emerson Foundation Fundraiser

Countdown continues for our fundraiser! Please join us on May 22 from 5-8 p.m. Your tax-deductible donation of $50/per person helps raise funds for our scholarship program for children with special needs at our center.

The evening starts with the children's fashion show featuring some of our students modelling outfits donated from local businesses like Sweet Love and Sugar Britches, Just Kidds and More, and 1379 Athletics.
Next is a silent auction featuring a plasma car, tickets to ball games, restaurants, gift baskets and more!

Followed by a catered dinner by Renee's,Round Rock.
AND there is babysitting at Emerson Academy that is free if you purchase tickets!

A new theme park geared for children and adults with special needs is opening in San Antonio. Morgan’s Wonderland is located in San Antonio, Texas. Our Easter Egg Hunt is this Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm! It isn't too late to donate items for the event! Drop off plastic eggs, wrapped candy (no chocolate or peanuts!), and small toys/stickers at the front desk or with your child's teacher. Thank you to all who have donated thus far!

Non-Profit!

Emerson Academy is now officially a non-profit organization! As a program of The Emerson Foundation, Emerson Academy has been granted 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, which means that all donations made to the center or foundation are tax deductible (excluding tuition). If you'd like to make a donation to our scholarship fund to assist families in financial need, we'll be happy to furnish a reciept.

Our new status will allow us to better serve our students and families in the future through additional services, as well as provide opportunities for children to attend Emerson who would have otherwise been unable to do so. Thank you for your support as we strive to make Emerson Academy the best it can be for as many as possible.

Keeping Emerson Healthy

As the winter season trudges on, Emerson, like the rest of central Texas, has been affected by several illnesses. We encourage parents to be aware of viruses and diseases that are going around so that we may help prevent further illness. Any illnesses are always noted on the front bulletin board.

Currently, we have two significant bugs going around: RSV and Fifth Disease. Please read up on these, know the early signs, and keep your child home if (S)he is having symptoms. With your help, we can continue to keep Emerson a healthy, happy place!
